Overall Length: 107mm, For Nuclei of all grades. Ideal for Incision size of 1.5mm, Nuclei of any hardness can be easily divided using the special forceps designed for the Karate Prechop technique. Using the technique the nucleus is prechopped into 4 or more sections before introducing the phaco handpiece, Harder nuclei or nuclei with weak cillary zonules should be prechopped very carefully, supported with a nucleus sustainer to reduce the stress on the cillary zonules. With the phaco prechop technique, ultrasound time is reduced to less than 50% of that required with the conventional grooving method. Because the nucleus is divided beforehand, the movement of the phaco tips is minimized. Mechanical and thermal damage to the wound is consequently reduced. Designed for small incision surgery, each prechopper opens to a maximum of 1.5mm at the site of incision
