25 gauge, Bent tip to go under the rhexis to reach the nucleus equator, to allow fluid injection in the right position for the best separation of nucleus from capsule. Bent end helps rotate the nucleus after hydrodissection to check Nuclear mobility inside the bag.
Tip orifice diameter: 4mm. Pump chamber is filled with alcohol by removing the end cap. Depressing the button on the pump dispenses a pre-measured amount of alcohol into the OZ chamber. Optical zone chamber features cross hairs for centering on the cornea and the sharp edge delineates the epithelium. This provides an excellent starting point for lifting the edge of the epithelial flap.
The right angle facilitates placement beneath the sub-incisional capsulorhexis edge to preferentially lossen the subincisional cortex. The tip is short enough to flip around to hydrodissect in new areas and is flattened to produce a fan-like jet. Tip has a dull point to engage and spin the peripheral nuclear surface with a circular raking motion to confirm adequate nuclear mobility.
Designed for use in Micro Incision Cataract Surgery (MICS).
