For the micro coaxial phaco surgery, wound protection is the key to success. By prechopping the nucleus, the ultrasound time and energy can be reduced remarkably to prevent the incision from the thermal damage by the phaco tip as well as the corneal endothelial from the turbulence. Reduced aspiration time will also alleviate the stress on the optic nerve by the high irrigating pressure. The new capsulorhexis forceps will help to make an ideal CCC through a small sub-2mm incision.
