Dr. Chee's specially designed atraumatic forceps has gently sand-blasted gripping surfaces that allow the surgeon to reach and hold onto the IOL optic or haptic as needed.
With current micrograsper forceps, retrieving subluxated implants from the vitreous cavity can be difficult. With the forceps, the grip on the capsularbag remnants that envelope the IOL and are not ideal for gripping the optic or the haptic. ASICO's AE-4907 forceps are specially designed as atraumatic forceps has gently sand-blasted gripping surfaces that allow the surgeon to reach and hold onto the IOL optic or haptic as needed.

We know an IOL is sometimes made of slippery material, It can slip from the original position behind the pupil into the anterior vitreous. The way we do iris fixation is by optic capture around the pupil, and that means the best way to hold the lens is by holding the optic—not the haptic.
